Venue

PostgreSQL Conference Europe 2013 will be held at the Conrad Dublin in Dublin, Ireland.

Hotel

The conference venue itself is a hotel. This hotel provides a special rate for conference attendees, which also gives you the easiest possible access to the conference, being just an elevator ride away!

The rate we have negotiated includes Internet access and breakfast, which are normally not included in the hotel rates. It is possible to use this rate (subject to availability) both before and after the conference, for those who want to stay some extra time to visit Dublin. The rate for a standard room is EUR 139 / night (or EUR 149 / night for double occupancy). The rate is flexible and allows cancellation up to 28 days before the conference at no charge.

We have a limited number of rooms held for conference visitors. These rooms are available for reservation before September 2nd. After this date, the hotel rooms can be booked using the regular hotel website and rates. The number of rooms available at the discounted rate is also limited.

Since this date is fairly early, we strongly advice attendees who wish for the convenience of staying at the conference hotel to make their reservation as soon as possible.

To book using the PGConf.EU rate, please use this link. Note that the rate details specifies that wifi costs extra, while the rate title says it doesn't. It's the rate title that's correct - both wifi and breakfast are included in this rate, unlike the default rates at the Conrad.

Note: If you book a room at this hotel using a different rate than the conference rate, the standard rates typically do not include wifi and breakfast.

If you prefer a different hotel, the venue hotel is centrally located in Dublin, so there are plenty of other hotels available within easy walking distance!

For those interested in sharing rooms to keep the cost down, a wiki page has been created to coordinate room sharing.

Arriving by air

Dublin is served by a single international airport, the Dublin International Airport, airport code DUB. Ireland is not part of Schengen, so even if you are arriving from within Europe, remember to bring your passport!

The easiest way to get to the Conrad Hotel from the airport, is using the aircoach. This bus is easy to find outside the airport, and goes to a stop close to the hotel. You want the LEOPARDSTOWN / SANDYFORD ROUTE, to the stop Leeson Street Lower which is around the corner from the hotel. The bus costs €8.

You can of course also take a taxi. Estimated cost for a taxi is typically at least €35.
